David Stilfield, 74, of Independence passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, at his home.
David L. Stilfield was born on December 21, 1947, in Liberty, MO, to William and Winifred Stilfield. He grew up and received his education in Liberty. Following high school David enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on August 22, 1967 and served his country until honorably being discharged on February 20, 1971. After returning home David began working for the Liberty Schools until starting his career as a security guard with Wells Fargo. He continued his career with Allied Barton until retiring in 2015 due to health. David married Patricia Meyers in 1981 in Independence, MO.
David will be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends, eating good meals, movies and enjoying the simple things in life.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Patricia; one son, Adam Stilfield; five stepchildren, Mike (Candy) Houseman, Christy (Danny) Goode, Troy (Beverly) Meyers, April Meyers, Kelly Meyers; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alan Stilfield, William (Cathy) Stilfield; a sister, Ann (Robert) Dorsel; three nieces and one nephew.
David is preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services with military honors will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2022, at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens, 18301 E. Salisbury Road, Independence, MO, 64056.
