Thomas D. "Bud� Stinnett, 71 of Independence, MO, passed away March 28, 2007, at his home surrounded by his loving family and many of his friends. Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 31, at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial with Military Honors at Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1-2:00 pm Saturday at the chapel. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or, the American Legion Post 21. Bud was born on July 7, 1935 in Sugar Creek, MO to Carl T. and Rose Adeline (Stowell) Stinnett. He was a proud veteran of the Korean Conflict, service with the Air Force. Bud was a conductor for the Canadian Pacific Soo Line Railroad from 1963-1996. Bud enjoyed being the center of attention and the life of the party. Bud always had a ready joke for anyone that would listen. A lover of animals, both tame and wild, with a special friend, "one eyed Willy�. Bud was a faithful member of the American Legion Post 21 ("The Rusty Zipper Club�), and the friends that he made there. The one thing that he valued more than life itself was his family, with 4th of July and NASCAR close behind. Left to mourn his passing is his bride of 49 years, Joan Stinnett, and four legged companion Lexi, of the home. Other survivors include; mother, Adeline Stinnett; children, Deena Pierre (Tom), Robert Stinnett (Melanie), Denise Hachinsky (Shaun), Carla Owens (Jeff); siblings Pat Whitson, Kelley Stinnett, Sharon Walker; grandchildren, TJ Pierre, Tara Hachinsky, Andrea Pierre, Trent Owens, Sloan Stinnett, BreeAnna Owens, Brendan Stinnett. Bud is preceded in death by his father, Carl Stinnett, brothers, Vernon Stinnett, Roger Stinnett, and Darrell Stinnett, and by a grandson Justin Hachinsky.
