Evelyn L. Stokes

Evelyn L. Stokes, 83, of Independence, MO passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at the Rosewood Health Center. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 2, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel with the burial at Roanoke Cemetery in Randolph County, Missouri. Contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice. The visitation will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday in the chapel. Evelyn was born on March 30, 1921 in Huntsville, MO to John and Mary (Green) Bagby. She worked for Commerce Bank for over 30 years as a Bookkeeping Supervisor. Evelyn loved to go to the casino, and watch the Humming Birds outside of her window. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Stokes. Evelyn is survived by her children, Steve Stokes and Barbara Reynolds; grandchildren, Jason, Elizabeth, Sarah, Randy and Matt; and 8 great grandchildren.
