Beverly J. Stone, 76, of Independence, Missouri, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.
Beverly was born to Clifford and Georgia Graham in Kansas City, Missouri on June 20, 1945. She graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City in 1963. She worked as a clerk at TWA in Kansas City, did bookkeeping for Antoine’s Seed Company in Independence and worked at a driving range owned by her family.
She married Don Stone on February 26, 1966. They were blessed with their daughter Angela on September 27, 1966.
Beverly enjoyed her flower garden, bird watching, golfing, following the local news and watching Court TV. She had great affection for dogs, especially Tippy and T.J., and most recently enjoyed dog-sitting Allie for a family friend. She loved spending quality time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed getting together with the neighbors and sitting around a campfire sharing stories or relaxing on the patio. She was Kansas City Comets fan ever since the team came to town in the 1980s, loving to cheer on “her boys.” She appreciated her Greek heritage, enjoying its culture and food.
Beverly was very active in Independence Women’s Civic Club for many years, helping raise money for a wide variety of local charities, including Salvation Army.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Don Stone; her daughter Angela Dornbrook and son-in-law James Dornbrook; and her sister Sylvia Bauman; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Delbert Bauman.
A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday March 10, 2022 at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri.
