Patricia May Stone (Erickson)

July 4, 1924 — October 26, 2020

Patricia May Stone, of Independence, MO, a lively woman who always had the final say, had her final word on October 26, 2020. She was 96 years old. Patricia was born on July 4, 1924 in Independence, Missouri, to Arthur and Lossie Erickson. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in the class of 1942, then went on to marry Willian Everette Stone in May 30, 1946. Two daughters were born to this union: Laura and Dana.

As a switchboard operator, Patricia worked for Southwestern Bell for 14 years, and at General Motors Leed’s plant in Kansas City, MO. Her family knew her as a hardworking woman, but also a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Taking care of her grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren, was Patricia’s pride and joy. She was a very strong-willed woman who enjoyed landscaping and the outdoors, especially with her dog, Baby Doll. She loved her 3 cats, Bumpus, Monkey and Molly. Any and everything she did was on her terms and she will be deeply missed.

Patricia is survived by her daughters, Laura Browning and Dana Eichman; granddaughters, Catherine Casey, Chris McKerlie, Karen Grunder and Amy Kirkland; 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William E. Stone; and parents Arthur E. and Lossie E. Erickson.

Cremation is planned, and the family will be having a private service to honor Patricia. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.speakschapel.com (Arrangements: Speaks Suburban Chapel (816) 373-3600)
