Audrey Stonger, 86, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO, 64052. The family will greet people from 9:00 a.m., until service time Friday at the chapel. Burial will follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Audrey was born February 27, 1929 in Independence, MO to Noah and Frances Weddle. She worked as an administrative assistant at a number of different places including the Independence Sanitarium/Hospital. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, and embroidery. Audrey was a devoted wife and mother; she was a member of the PTA at the kids’ school and Den Mother for Cub Scouts. She was also a member of the Community of Christ, College Park Congregation. Audrey will be remembered by her sons Mike Stonger of Midland, MI, Rick Stonger and wife Lynne of Colorado Springs, CO, Frank Stonger and wife Alonda of Longview, TX; sister Judith Reynolds of Umatilla, OR; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
