Karen A. Stoppy, of Independence, MO, formerly of Westwood, NJ, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022. She was 82.
Karen was born on March 15, 1939 in Westwood, NJ to Henry and Rose (Chandler) Kamena. She graduated from Westwood High School in 1957 and went on to attend Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. Karen worked in various roles throughout her happy and successful 40-year career at Grand Union Grocery in the Westwood, NJ area.
In her younger years, she enjoyed playing softball and was an excellent bowler, participating in many leagues and scoring a perfect 300 game on a couple of occasions. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and playing Gameboy, especially with her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Whether Kyle was helping her at home, Kayla was bringing her dogs over for a visit or Jennie was calling from Pennsylvania, each moment she spent with them brought her joy.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janet Perrone; and her brother, David Kamena.
She leaves behind her daughter, Lynn Stoppy; and her grandchildren, Kayla Brackin, Kyle Brackin, and Jennie Perrone.
