Dennis L. Stowell, an Electrical Contractor and life-long resident of Independence, MO passed away unexpectedly on August 9, 2021, at the age of 72.
Dennis was born on November 3, 1948, to Clarence and Elizabeth Stowell. He graduated from William Chrisman Highschool and later attended Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.
After returning from Graceland University, he began working for the family business, Stowell Electric, at which time he entered the apprenticeship program. Upon completion of the program, he moved into the office where he expanded his knowledge in Project Management. He took his passion for the trade and essential knowledge to several other Electrical Contractors in the Kansas City area over the course of his life. He ended his career with Capital Electric Construction Company as the Vice President of the Service Department, where he remained until his death. In addition, he was a Board of Directors member for the National Electrical Contractors Association of Kansas City chapter.
Dennis and his wife, Cindy, were married in October of 1988 and had nearly 33 amazing years together. Over the course of their marriage, they enjoyed their children, their grandchildren (and grand dogs), Chiefs and Royals games, plenty of family vacations at the lake, and numerous other activities with their family.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Stowell, and brother, Gary Stowell. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Stowell; brother, Jeff Stowell (Sherilyn Stowell); wife, Cindy Stowell; son, Tige Stowell; daughter, Angie Coleman (Mike Coleman); daughter Ashley Stowell; his beloved grandsons, Cruz and Jax Coleman, as well as other extended family and friends.
A visitation to honor Dennis will be held on Tuesday, August 17, from 4-7:00 p.m., at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street in Independence, MO. A Celebration of Life for Dennis will be private and held for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to be made to the American Heart Association.
