Jean Delores Stowell, 76, of Shawnee Mission, KS, passed away Friday, April 30, 2004 at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2004 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 39th at M-291 with the burial at Mount Washington Cemetery. The visitation will directly precede the service from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Jean�s mission in life was to help others and contribute to her neighbors and community. She became a councilwoman for the City of Grain Valley; a member of the election board, an Elder for the Community of Christ Church; a member of The Grain Valley Historical Society; and a volunteer for the Johnson County Museum. She was a charter member of the Missouri Quilt Guild, a member of Starlight Quilters guild and Blue Springs Stitchers Quilt Guild. She worked as a secretary for Olathe Public Schools. She was employed by Hyer Boot Company, Sears, Hallmark Cards, Olathe First National Bank, and home healthcare services. She and her husband, Max, owned and managed Crazy Horse R.V. Campground in Villa Ridge, MO and Stowell Auto Clinic in Olathe. She loved to be with family and friends. Her family included her loving husband, Max Stowell and son Bill Stowell who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Jane and husband Warren Krueger, Leawood, KS; her sons, Fran Stowell and wife Barb, Olathe KS, and Greg Stowell, Queens, NY; sister, Marcy Tuffli and husband Art and family, Portland, Oregon; five grandchildren, Marjie (Krueger) Weldele and husband Jeff; Dan Krueger and wife Nikki; Mike Stowell and fiance� Danielle Shum; Darin Stowell and wife Jackie; and Brent Stowell; great grandchildren, Matthew and Melody Weldele, Ritter and Reagan Krueger. Friends, family and community members will miss Jean. We admired her great courage in her fight against cancer. Her love for God�s creation was expressed in her flower gardens. Her hobbies included sewing, quilt making and helping her family and friends. Her unconditional love for God and family is best expressed in a plaque that hung on her walls for many years: "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.�
