Ruth Joann Stoy

Ruth JoAnn Stoy, 67, Independence, Mo. formerly of Larned, died Dec. 14, 2004 at the Medical Center of Independence. A graveside service will be held 11 am, Sat., Dec. 18, 2004 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Independence, Mo. Visitation will be 5 - 7 pm, Friday at Carson-Speaks Midtown Chapel, Independence, Mo. where the Rosary will be said at 5 pm. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society. JoAnn was born Feb. 27, 1937, in Great Bend, Ks. She was a Past-President of the Altar Society at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Larned, Ks. where she was a member. She is survived by daughter Debra Shields, Indep., Mo.; sons Michael Jacobs and Gary Jacobs, both of Newton, Ks.; Tim Jacobs, Great Bend, Ks.; Tom Jacobs, Newton, Ks.; brother Don Thomason, Natchitoches, La.; sister Shirley Hauser, San Diego, Ca.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
