Daniel Eugene Street, of Independence, MO passed away far too soon on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. He was 73 years old. A visitation will take place from 6-8pm, Sunday March 21st at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E 39th St.; Independence, MO 64055. Interment with full military honors will be 1:00pm, Monday, March 22nd at Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Higginsville.
Dan was born on November 21, 1947 to Donald and Ramona (Holden) Street in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Raytown High School in 1965 and went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy from 1966-1970. He was a fourth-generation bricklayer and member of Bricklayer’s Local Union #15 as well as the American Legion. Dan retired from Custom Energy as an Energy Technician. In his free time, he was a talented guitar player and leather-worker. He collected many things dear to him, but nothing as dear to him as his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca (Troy) Brooks; his son, Paul Street (Cynthia Thomas); brothers, Gary (Dedra) Street and Rick (Jill) Street; grandsons, Nolan Brooks (Katherine) and Holden Brooks; as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 47 years, Sunny Street; and his brother, Ted Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to The Humane Society.
