Chilton Charles Strode

Chilton Charles Strode, 77 of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Cremation is planned with private memorial services to be held at a later date. Chilton was born September 20, 1940 in Kansas City, Mo to David and Cecil (Crawford) Strode and has been a lifelong area resident. He had worked for 42 years for the City of Independence as a project manager. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #630 AF&AM and the East Gate Chapter of the O.E.S. He served in the Air Force Reserves from 1963-69. Survivors include: his loving wife, Patsy of the home; 3 children, David Strode and wife Christy and Gordon Strode and wife Sarah all of Independence, MO and Rebecca Zackert and husband Terry of Raymore, MO; a brother, Norvin Ennis of Independence, MO; a sister, Emma Moore of Kansas City, MO; 8 grandchildren, Joseph Strode, Amanda Candioto, Amber Young, Anderson Young, Daniel Strode, Ashley Manning, Kayla Shearer and Nolan Mercer and 4 great grandchildren, Logan, Landon, Leo and Sophie. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jesse Strode in 2015 and a brother, Max Sherwood.
