David Paul Strode

David Paul Strode, 54 of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, October 13th. Cremation is planned with private memorial services to be held at a later date.

David was born April 9,1968 in Kansas City, Mo to Chilton and Patsy Strode and has been a lifelong area resident. David worked at R&S Automotive for many years as part owner with his brother- in-law, Joe Ross, in Independence Mo. until 2019. David loved anything to do with cars, race cars, and motorcycles. His best life and memories were of cookie days/family get togethers, his travels racing, go-kart racing and deep sea fishing with his sons and brother-in-law, Anniversary travels to Aruba, Turks, Atlantis, and the birth of his precious grandsons. Although he struggled with addiction which eventually took his life he truly loved his family with all his heart and never intended to hurt his loved ones along the way. Please remember the David we all knew and loved, the jokes, the pranks, the loving father, husband, son, brother, and friend.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 34 years, Christy Strode of the home; son Joey Strode and wife Brooke of Blue Springs; mother Patsy Strode of Independence, MO; sister Rebecca Zackert and husband Terry of Raymore, MO; brother-in-laws Joe Ross of Independence Mo; Mike Ross and wife Briggett of Independence, MO; father-in-law Jim Ross (Hotmeat) of Independence, MO; mother-in-law Sandy Ross of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Logan Strode and Landon Strode of Blue Springs Mo; nieces and nephews; Amanda Candioto, Amber Young, Anderson Young, Daniel Strode, Christina Richmond, Anthony Ross, Regan Ross, Ashley Manning, Kayla Shearer and spouses. Many other friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his son Jesse Lee Strode in 2015; father Chilton Strode in 2018; and a brother; Gordon Strode in 2019.
