Glenda Summers

Glenda Lucille Summers, 73 of Independence, MO passed away, Saturday evening, January 5, 2013 at her residence. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Calvary Baptist Church, 1915 N. Liberty St., Independence, MO 64050. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the church. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Donations may be made in her name to the Calvary Baptist Church. Glenda was born April 15, 1939 in Appleton City, MO to Wallace and Nola (Poston) Gilbert. She had worked as church secretary for Beaumont Baptist Church for 29 years until she retired in 2002. She was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was in charge of Military Ministry of the Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Bob Summers of the home; 3 daughters, Christi Summers and husband Michael Badolato of Euless, TX, Terri Dye of Blue Springs and Kelli Hayes and husband Martin of Independence, MO; 10 grandchildren, Andrea Perez, Alexander Perez, Augusta Hinojosa, Brooklyn Brogan, Brianne Dye, Shea Bass, Cheyenne Bass, Cassidy Hayes, James Hayes and John Hayes and 4 great grandchildren, Jacob Hinojosa, Lillian Hinojosa, Joel Hinojosa and Bennett Brogan.
