Glenn Edmond Summers, 67, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2005, at Independence Health Care Center, Independence, MO. Visitation will be 5-6:00 pm, Wednesday, November 23, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 291 Hwy at 39th St., Independence, MO, with a funeral service following at 6:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, November 26, at Jackson Grove Cemetery, Benton, IL. Mr. Summers was born January 17, 1938, in Benton, IL, to Humbert and Lilly (Cambron) Summers. He farmed and ranched in Illinois for many years. In 1985 he moved to Independence, MO, where he and his son Stephen began a real estate investment company which they operated together. He was a member of the Community of Christ, was an ordained minister, and had served as the Pastor of the congregation in Benton. Glenn is survived by his 4 children, Glenn Stephen Summers and his wife Gloria, Independence, MO, Michelle Ann Russell and husband Charles, Fairhope, AL, Lisa Renee Wendell and husband Edwin, Kansas City, MO, and Kristan Leah Summers and Eric Washington, Lee�s Summit, Mo; 7 grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon, and Brooke Russell, Zachariah Wendell, and Paige, Caleb, and Tanner Washington; 4 step-grandchildren, Julie and Peter Kelley, and Larry and Kathy Marble; 5 step-great-grandchildren, James, Michael, and Matthew Kelley, and Natalie and Derrick Marble; his brother Harold Summers, Akin, IL; 2 sisters, Lola Kearney, Benton, IL, and Loretta Alsobrooks, Clarksville, TN; and many other loving relatives and friends.
