Brett Sumner, 48, of Lee’s Summit, MO peacefully passed Wednesday, June 25, 2014 surrounded by his family. Visitation will be 3-5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Lakeland Community Church, 913 NE Colbern Rd., Lee’s Summit, MO 64086. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at Lakeland. Cremation to follow. Brett Wayne Sumner was born November 12, 1965 in Kansas City, MO the son of Wallace Sumner and Dottie Morgan. He graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1984. Brett worked for Missouri Gas Energy for 24 years. He had a heart of gold and was always focused on helping others! Brett is survived by his wife of 24 years, Lisa (Krutsinger) Sumner; sons Joshua Krutsinger-Serpico (Joe), Justin Krutsinger (Staci); daughters Lindsay Sumner and fiancé Nick Ederer, Bailey Sumner; son Bo Sumner; father Wally Sumner (Penny); mother Dottie Stiver; three brothers; one sister; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many special friends.
