Doyle Elmer Sundell, 86, Independence, MO, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012.
Memorial services will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Woods Chapel Congregation Community of Christ; 500 NE Woods Chapel Rd, Lee’s Summit, MO. Inurnment will be private at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Orphan’s Africa; 2610 N. 8th St. Tacoma, WA, 98406.
Doyle was born September 26, 1926 in Redwing, MN the son of Carl and Eunice (Knapp) Sundell. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Doyle retired from Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a mechanic supervisor. He served as an Evangelist and was a member of the Woods Chapel Congregation. Doyle’s love in life was his family and helping others in need.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; and his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife Hazel of 64 years; daughter, Val Sundell of Austin, TX; son, Tom Sundell and wife Gail of Cheyenne, WY; daughters, Barbara Borkowski and husband Rob of Lee’s Summit; and Jeanne Davis and husband Paul of Lamoni, IA; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and sister Greta Berry.
