Marvin Leeroy Suthers

Marvin LeeRoy Suthers, 89 passed away on June 13, 2022. Marvin was born on July 21, 1932. Marvin was a veteran with the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a police officer for St. Joseph, Missouri, a State Trooper for the Missouri Highway Patrol and worked for State Farm Insurance as a claims fraud investigator until his retirement in 1994. Marvin was a Commander at American Legion Post 598 of Hickman Mills, continued on to 189 of Lee’s Summit.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; son, Mark (surviving spouse, Lorena); granddaughter, Jill and parents, Marvin C. and Louise Suthers.
He is survived by son, Steven Suthers (Vickie); daughter Melody Schmucker (Kevin); five grandchildren, Michelle Iglesias (Mario), Jennifer Logeman (Matthew), Brian Suthers (Jamie), Jason Vaughan (Leena), and Jack Dorst; ten great grandchildren.
Marvin loved his family, friends, and his music. He never knew a stranger. Marvin (Papa) was loved by many and will truly be missed.
