John Swafford, 40, Independence, MO, died Wednesday, September 8, 2004, at TMC Lakewood. Services will be 1:30 pm Saturday at George C. Carson & Sons Funeral Home, 1501W. Lexington, Independence, MO, 64052. A graveside service will be at 4:00 pm Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Joseph, MO. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Friday at the Funeral Home. The family suggests contributions to Cancer Research. John was born November 25, 1963, in St. Joseph, MO to Edward and Phyllis Swafford. John had worked at Cosentino�s grocery store for many years. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his family. John was a member of the Community of Christ and attended the Stone Church congregation. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Hope Binnicker, and Benjamin and Christine Swafford. John is survived by his mother, Phyllis Swafford, Kansas City MO, his father, Edward Swafford, St. Joseph MO; his brother, Gregory Swafford, Overland Park, KS; nephew, Connor Swafford, Overland Park KS; and many other loving relatives and friends.
