Georgene C. Swank, Independence, MO passed away December 2, 2016. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday December 18, 2016 at Country Club Christian Church (CCCC), 6101 Ward Parkway, KC, MO 64113. Visitation will precede the service 12:30 p.m., at the chapel. Inurnment will be held at a later date, in Clear Creek Cemetery, Huntington, IN. Georgene was born October 12, 1933 in Garrett, IN. A devout Christian, Georgene loved family, genealogy, the arts, music at church, reading, and proper use of the English language. She was a devoted wife and mother, supporting her children in all their endeavors. She was extremely skilled in many handcrafts, including woodworking, knitting, and fine tailoring. Georgene was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Theron Swank. She is survived by daughter Leslie Swank and spouse Jon Hart, Kansas City, MO; sons David Swank and spouse Theresa, Independence, MO; Andrew Swank and spouse Roberta, College Grove, TN; sister Corine Austin, South Whitley IN; brother D Eugene Crawford, Lake City, FL, and many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family suggests donations to CCCC in lieu of flowers.
