Leon Minton Swift

Leon M. Swift, 88, Independence, MO passed away May 6, 2006. Services will be 10 am, Thursday, May 11, 2006 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; interment at Woodlawn Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wed. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the American Diabetes Assoc. Leon was born June 2, 1917 in Fulton, KY. He was an inspector at the Claycomo Ford Plant for 40 years and retired in 1977. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII and was a former P.O.W. Leon is survived by his wife Muriel Swift; of the home; daughter Linda Ann Swift, Onienta, NY; son James Leon Swift and wife Diane, Lathrop, MO; daughter Sharron Kay Wheatley and husband Phil, Blue Springs, MO, sister Betty Allen and husband Bill, Blue Springs, MO; brother Bill Swift, Prescott, AZ; and six grandchildren.
