Eric was born May 27, 1996 in Independence, Missouri to Ernest and Diane Sylvan. Eric is survived by his parents, of the home; his paternal grandmother, Joan Greene of Kansas City, MO, maternal grandfather George “Pops” Knowles of Fort Walton Beach, FL; brother Anthony (Ida) Sylvan of Raytown MO, sisters Tiffany Sylvan of the home and Serena Alaniz of Ankeny, Iowa; nieces, Kensley Sylvan and Azari Alaniz; and nephews, Fabian and Julian Alaniz; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Our “Bud” was a loving and loyal son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, grandbaby, and friend. His smile and personality lit up a room as soon as he walked in. Eric was a Mama’s boy; he loved to be right next to her. His best friend was his Dad. He loved spending time working with his brother. He was his sisters’ biggest protector. He was Kensley’s “Unca Elmo.” Most importantly, Eric was a man of God.
His smile was brightest when he could be with his family; Sunday mornings at church; on vacations; spending time with his cousins and friends; and watching football – particularly his Kansas City Chiefs.
Eric was met in Heaven by his maternal grandmother Rhonda Knowles, paternal grandfather Donald Martin, maternal and paternal great-grandparents, and many more close relatives.
