Gertrude Leona Tandy

November 3, 1910 — November 20, 2005

Gertrude Leona (Ridgeway) Tandy, 95, Lee�s Summit, MO, passed away Nov. 20, 2005 at John Knox Care Center. Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Gertrude was born in Kelly, KS and graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1928-29. She met Gene Lewis Tandy at a Methodist Sunday School party and they married Oct. 29, 1932. He preceded her in death Nov. 12, 1991. She was active in the Methodist Church for many years. She reveled in sharing the poetry that she wrote. A book of her poems and a children�s book were published as were individual poems in the John Knox Pioneer. She rejoiced in creating recipes, cooking and baking for her family and her friends. She is survived by her daughters Julia Lehne and husband Rich, Hermitage, MO; and Gerri Fallman and husband John Thomas Fallman, Independence, MO; brother Dudley Boulger and wife Eloise, Kent, WA; grandchildren Debbie Andrae and husband Ron; Terri Burt and husband Dwight; Kathy McCracken and husband Bill; Tim Sackman and wife Debbie; Laura Money and husband Brent; Kristal Cadwallader; and Joe Early; twenty-three great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; her close friend, Wanda Pierce; and many other treasured family members. Heartfelt thanks to the many caring nurses and other caregivers at John Knox Village.
