Lora May Tapko (Gregg)

Lora Tapko, 92, of Independence, MO passed away February 7, 2018. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Burial will be held at Mt. Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital. Lora was born March 26, 1925 to Homer and Dorothy Gregg. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, and her favorite hobbies included traveling and visiting local casinos. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker, and had retired from Western Electric. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph E. Tapko Sr.; and grandson, Joseph Sesser. She is survived by her five children, Mary Sesser (George), Joseph Tapko Jr. (Julia), Dorothy Blando (Emanuel), Susan Butt (Muhammad), Laura Lawrence (George Zuba); sister, Dorothy Wissman; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two sister-in-law’s, Mildred and Ruby Tapko.
