Betty Jean Taylor, 96, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019. A visitation will be held Sunday, December 8th from 6-8pm, with a memorial service on Monday, December 9th at 2:00pm, both at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052.
Betty was born on February 14, 1923 to Albert and Alice (Perry) Brown in Novelty, MO. She has lived in the Kansas City area since 1942 and worked as an underwriter for Country Insurance Company. Betty was also a Jehovah Witness and enjoyed bowling, church activities, playing card games and photography.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Stanley Taylor. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Mark) Melson of Raymore, MO and Tina (Robert) White of Belton, MO; grandchildren, Traci (Michael) Brown, Terri (Bryan) Harrel, Ryndi (Chris) Dawson, Jamie White and Stephanie (Brandon) Huskey; as well as, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great-grandson.
If desired, donations may be made in honor of Betty to either University of Kansas Cancer Center-Westwood campus or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Midwest.
