Juanita Belle Taylor 95 of Independence Mo. passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021.
Juanita was born, September 29th, 1926 at her parents' home in Purvis, Missouri, the daughter of Carl and Poe (Baquet) Wilson. In 1929 she moved with her family from Purvis to Versailles, Missouri. She graduated from Versailles High School in 1945. She attended Missouri State College at Warrensburg Missouri and received her teaching certificate. She taught at Lindloff School for two years. On May 25th 1947 at her parents' home she had a double wedding with her sister Stella Garrison and brother in -law James Garrison. She married Eugene Ross Taylor and moved to Kansas City. Their 60 year marriage was filled with laughter, labor, travel and family. Eugene preceded her in death in 2007. Juanita worked at the Russell Stover Candy Store on the Plaza before completing Aladin Beauty School and becoming a beautician. She owned one shop and operated one in her home. She loved quilting, Sending cards to people, reading, mowing, the lake of the Ozarks, her church fellowship, square dancing and most of all her family. She was a member of Independence Eastern Star, Christ United Methodist Church and American Business Women. She is survived by her one and only daughter Marlene Jean Mitchell (Gerry) of Blue Springs Mo. Her beloved Grandson Jeffery Todd Mitchell (Stacy) Independence Mo. and 6 Great grandchildren Tyler Mitchell, Mackenzie Mitchell, Katelyn Mitchell, Makayla Howard, Mya Howard, and Maddux Howard. Her brother Warren Wilson and sister Stella Garrison both preceded her in death. She loved her nieces and nephews : Angela (Randy) Litchfield of Texas, Rebecca (Ted) Funk of Texas, Donna (Chris) Baker of Trimble Mo., Jim (Berlinda) Garrison, of Rayville Mo., Carl Wilson of Kansas City Mo., Earl (Lynn) of Stover, Mo., Kirt (Jo) of Stover, Mo., Kevin (Rosanne) Taylor of Texas, Travis (Debbie) of Belton Mo., and Joni (Bob) Brown of Lake Winnebago, Mo. and many other cousins and relatives she loved dearly.
