Mary Elizabeth Taylor, 76, of Buckner, MO, passed away, Monday, December 13, 2004 at St. Mary�s Manor in Blue Springs. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 16, 2004 at Buckner Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:30 until 1:45 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel. Donation may be made to the University of Missouri Extension Center, Jackson County 4H 1507 S. Noland Rd. Independence, MO 64055. Mary was born November 4, 1928 in Buckner, MO to Emory and Lillie (Webb) Mershon. She was a lifelong resident of Buckner having attended public schools and graduated from Buckner High School. She worked as a Executive Director for the Jackson County United Way for over 30 years before she retired in 1994. She was also a volunteer for the Jackson County 4H. She was a member of the American Business Women�s Association. She enjoyed farming and was a 4H Horseman. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Beth Bloss and her husband Wayne of Oak Grove, MO; a sister, Rebecca Marcille Neal of Albuquerque, NM and a brother, Phillip Mershon of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her long time companion, Denver Cook in 2002.
