Terrell W. "Terry" Thompson

Terry W. Thompson of Independence, died on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, at the age of 68.

He was born on January 31, 1956 in Independence, the son of William Ferguson "Bill" and Eleanor Katherine (Lenox) Thompson. He was raised in Independence and graduated from Truman High School.

He worked for GTI in Gardner before his physical health declined. 

On November 6, 1982, Terry was united in marriage to Sheila Ehrhart. To this union one son was born. This marriage later ended in divorce.

On May 18, 1991, he was united in marriage to Vicky Harrington. To this union one son was born. This marriage later ended in divorce.

Known for his quiet demeanor, Terry found solace in his passions. He was a music lover, often lost in the rhythms and melodies that filled his life. His dogs were his constant companions, providing unwavering loyalty and affection. A true enthusiast, Terry cherished his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, finding freedom and adventure on the open road as often as he could.

He is survived by his sons, Matt and wife, Trystan Thompson of Eureka, Kansas; and Tyler and wife, Cylea Thompson of Holt, Missouri; three grandchildren: Indiana Jesseph, Liam Thompson, and Lochlan Thompson and another on the way, Rynnlynn Grayse Thompson; and brother, Tom and wife, Melissa Thompson of Lee's Summit, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial was made at Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence.
