Kimberly Diane Terry, 63, of Independence, MO, passed away on Sunday December 18, 2022. She was born on December 2, 1959, to Donald and JoAnn (Meier) Nelson in Independence, MO. On June 23, 1984, she married the love of her life Michael Terry. Kimberly worked as a CNA, then a homemaker and grandmother, and then she went back to work in home care. She worked during her daughters’ childhood years, and she stopped working when the grandkids were born and then went back to work when they were grown enough to go to school. Kimberly was the best mom and grandmother and could always be counted on to be there for them whenever and wherever they needed her. She was a wonderful friend and would always help in any way she could. Kimberly loved her parents and was blessed to still have them both so close.
She loved to crochet and was very talented at creating things for her family and friends. Playing word searches, games on her phone, and watching criminal and western shows were some of her favorite past times. Kimberly’s biggest love outside of her family was hands down Elvis, she was his number one fan.
Kimberly is survived by her husband Michael, daughters; Rebecca (Larry) Maya, Angela (Krystian) Bienias, her parents Donald and JoAnn Nelson, mother-in-law Henrietta (Hildebrand) Terry, four grandchildren; Nathan Michael Maya, Kierianna Isabelle Terry, Lawson Anthony Maya, and Violetta Diane Bienias, three brothers; Don Nelson Jr, Jeff Nelson, and Mike Nelson, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father-in-law Calvin Warner Terry and the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Aaron Presley.
A visitation will be held for Kimberly from 9-11am on Friday December 30, 2022, at Carson Speaks Chapel (1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO) with a service to follow at 11am. She will be buried at Floral Hills Cemetery in Raytown, MO.
