Charles T. Thatch, 84, of Belton, MO, died, Saturday, October 16, 2004 at the Independence Health Care Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time on Wednesday at the chapel. Charles was born August 9, 1920 in Mt. Washington, MO to Delmar G. and Emma Belle (Vest) Thatch. He has been a life long area resident. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army. He worked for the Yellow Cab Company for over 20 years before he retired in 1972. He was a volunteer for the Kansas City VA Hospital for many years and had volunteered over 1,000 hours. He was a member of the American Legion. He was married to Letha Thatch on June 21, 1947, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; a daughter, Charlene Thatch of Belton, MO; a son, Del Thatch and his wife Beverly of Lamar, MO; a brother, Joseph Thatch of Carthage, MO; 2 grandchildren, John Thatch of Belton, MO and Debra Thatch of Springfield, MO; 4 great grandchildren, Joel, Joshua, Jonah and Jay Thatch. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
