Alanda Thomas

Alanda Thomas, 43, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 surrounded by her loved ones. She had been battling multiple sclerosis for 10 years. A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO, 64052. Alanda was born on January 15, 1973 in Independence, MO to Lonnie Taylor and Jacqueline Thomas. She had a big heart and would help anybody in need. Alanda will be remembered by her daughter Ceira Shelby; son Christopher Redmond, Jr.; sister Rhonda Huntsucker and husband Bruce; sister Donna O’Brien and husband Travis; brother Richard Smith; sister Vannessa Smith; and brother Phillip Smith and wife Aubrey – all of Independence, MO; grandchildren Sammy Piper Jr., Samara Piper, and Zion Piper. She was preceded in death by her mother Jacqueline Smith and step-dad Roy Smith, Jr.
