Jack Thomas, 74, of Camdenton, MO passed away April 15, 2017. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Cremation will follow. Jack was born in Franklin County, KS on July 26, 1942 to Charles and Sophia (Gartner) Thomas. He moved to the Independence area with his family as a child. Jack was a graduate of William Chrisman High School. In 1962 he married the love of his life, Velma Gilmore. They were looking forward to their 55 wedding anniversary this summer. For many years Jack owned and operated Thomas Carpets until his retirement in 2000. After retirement Jack along with his wife retired to Osage Beach. He enjoyed sports, hunting, and especially fishing. Survivors include; wife Velma Thomas; daughters Coy Arreguin and her husband Frank, Shauna Howe; and Jackie Thomas; son Travis Thomas and his wife Deana; grandchildren: Michael Arreguin and his wife Tara, Mark Arreguin and his wife Alicia, Ian Howe, Alyssa Howe, Tyler Thomas, Jackson Troll, and Nicholas Troll; great grandchildren: Madison, Gabe, Eli, Oliva, Aiden, and Tripp; sister Kay Thomas Pirch; brother Ronnie Thomas; a large extended family and many friends. Jack is preceded in death by his parents. For many years he owned and operated Thomas Carpet.
