Jacqueline A. (Heafley) Thomas, 66, passed away peacefully August 21, 2017 with her family at her bedside. She was born October 26, 1950 in Durand, Wisconsin to Jack Lee and Loraine Elanore Heafley. Jacqui graduated from Park Hill High School. She was employed by the Kansas City Chiefs, then served as a flight attendant for TWA for 14 years and as a sales associate for Nordstrom’s, where she had a unique eye for fashion. In 1983, she married Emmitt Earl Thomas. Emmitt and Jacqui shared their love of sports as they were a part of many NFL franchises. As an NFL wife Jacqui hosted and participated in many charity events. Jacqui was an avid golfer. Her love for golf rendered 4 holes in 1. She had love for music and dance. She was preceded in death by her parents Loraine and Jack, brother Jack Lee Heafley Jr. (Jay), niece, Jessica Loraine Laws, and her beloved pet Ceiji. Jacqui leaves to cherish her memory: husband Emmitt Earl Thomas, Lees Summit, Missouri; sisters Sandra Heafley ( Alan Quimby) Astoria, Oregon and Catherine Laws, Kansas City, Missouri; nephew Spencer Laws, Kansas City, Missouri; stepson Derek Thomas (Julie), Las Vegas, Nevada; stepdaughter Dedra Thomas, Lees Summit, Missouri and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and cousins. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. followed by a 2:00 p.m. celebration of life memorial service on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E 39th St., Independence, MO. 64055
