Linda Thomas, 67, of Kansas City, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014. A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery.
Linda was born September 27, 1946 in Kansas City, MO to Victor and Bernice (Arnold) Mullinix. She married Donald Thomas on July 30, 1965 and together they raised three boys. From 1973-1986 the family lived in Texas where Don and Linda worked as EMT’s. She also worked as a dispatcher for many police departments. Upon their return to the Kansas City area, she worked as a dispatcher for Orion Security for 16 years before retiring. Linda enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband, camping on the lake with the family, and doting over her children and grandchildren. Her family will remember her as compassionate, always caring for others, helping those in need, a little hard headed but mostly loving. She is loved and will be missed.
Linda is survived by husband Don Thomas, of the home; son, Darrin Thomas (Charlene Arnold) of Kansas City, KS; son, Dale Thomas of St. Joseph, MO; son, Dustin Thomas (Julie) of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Brandee, Skyler, Leani, and Kiana; brother, Lee Mullinix (Sharon) of Holt, MO; sister, Kerry White (David) Reno, NV; sister, Sandy Sawyer of Independence, MO; and sister, Pam Harvey (Mark) of Independence, MO. She was preceded in death by brother, Terry Mullinix, her parents, and stepfather, Troy Hopper.
