Thomas Evan “Tim” Thomas III, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 14, 2021. He was 74. Tim was born to Thomas and Elizabeth Thomas on November 8, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Tim was a man of faith and determination. He dedicated every moment of his life providing for his family and his church. Tim was an elder in the RLDS church and taught Sunday school for many years. In his younger years Tim was an avid photographer and a licensed scuba diver. He also enjoyed running. Tim has participated in many marathons throughout the KC area and just recently completed his last race in July. Running was his therapy. Tim was an incredible role model and a hard working man. He spent the majority of his career as a controller for Lee’s Summit Honda before retiring in 2020. Sports and chocolate chip cookies could always bring a smile to his face and his witty personality will be missed by all his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Evan Thomas IV (Alethea); daughter, Ann Thomas and grandchildren, Charlotte and Oliver Thomas.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Judith Thomas.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 4th from 9-11am at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri. A graveside service will follow at 1pm at Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence, Missouri.
