Dana Thompson, 52, of Kansas City, MO passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 surrounded by her family. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 2pm on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055.
Dana was born on April 30, 1967 in Independence, MO to Charles “Dennis” and Kathleen (Pollard) Turner. She graduated from Lee’s Summit High School then worked managing her and her husband’s business as well as landing the career of a life-time: being a mother. She loved her family more than anything and would do anything for them. They took family ski trips to Colorado, spent summers at Lake of the Ozarks, and spent Christmas in Mexico. Dana was a good listener and a beautiful person inside and out.
Her memory will live on through her family: son Jerry Thompson, Jr. of Blue Springs, MO; daughters Brandy Bachtel and husband Kyle of Kansas City, MO, Brooklyn Sodano and husband Robert of Independence, MO; father Dennis Turner of Odessa, MO; sister Tuesday Gulick and husband Brad and their children Harrison and Hannah of Grain Valley, MO; grandchildren Konner Bachtel, Jaxon Thompson, Braelynn Bachtel (Dana’s birthday buddy), Haylee Thompson, Ava Sodano, and Anthony Sodano on the way; plus many other extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother Jamie Turner in 1992, husband Jerry Thompson, Sr. in 2008; and mother Kathleen Turner in 2016.
