Emma Jeannette Thompson, 91 of Independence, passed away, Sun. Jan 1, 2006 at the Lee�s Summit Hospital. Services will be 1:30 pm, Fri, Jan 6, 2006 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Indep. MO. Burial in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 - 8:30 pm Thursday at the chapel. Contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer�s Association. Mrs. Thompson was born on Oct 14, 1914 to Charles and Grace Still in LaMonte, MO. She had been a bank teller for various Independence banks retiring in 1976 after 26 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed knitting, doing ceramics and spending time with her family. She was a member of Mt. Washington Baptist Church and was a charter member of the Jackson County Genealogy Society. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon J. Thompson in 1991. She is survived by a son, John Thompson and wife Rita of Independence. Two sisters, Mary Meyer of Liberty and Willa Bonville of Kansas City, MO. Five grandchildren, Michele, Jeff, Rob, Steve and William. Four great grandchildren, Jenny, Jesse, Megan and Logan.
