Jake G. Thompson

Jake G. Thompson, 76, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 7:30 pm Friday, August 22nd at Speaks Midtown Chapel, (1101 W. Walnut, Indep. MO) Visitation will be Friday from 6 pm until service time. Jake was born May 31, 1921 in Kansas City, MO. He was a retired businessman of Thompson Enterprises, Dor Von Investments, Corp, and Jake�s Place. He also was a truck driver for Time DC Truck Line. He was a racecar driver and enthusiast. Jake was a member of the KC Moose Lodge #10, Sugar Creek, MO since 1964, and instituted the Moose Lodge #2414 in Independence, MO in 1993. He was a veteran of the US Navy; a member of the V.F.W.; the American Legion; a Honorary Deputy of Jackson County Sheriff�s Patrol, and a member of the Teamsters Union Local #41. Jake is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Thompson; children, Connie DePee of Independence, MO, Tracy Margaret Brammeier of Blue Springs, MO, and Jeff Wagoner of Dallas Texas; grandchildren, Joey, Brandon, and Erica Sharp of Blue Springs, MO, Jennifer Wagoner of Dallas, TX; brothers, Fred and Gene Thompson of Lee�s Summit, MO; sister, Vonnie Phipps of Kansas City, MO. He will be missed by a host of relatives and friends.
