Lester H. Thompson

Lester H. Thompson, 87, of Independence, MO, passed away Monday, January 22, 2007 at Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 1-2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Lester was born September 22, 1919 in Bozine, KS to Arthur and Bertha (Asher) Thompson. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Lester owned and operated Thompson�s Jewelry on the Independence square for over 40 years. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather to his family. Lester is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frances (Srader) Thompson; sons Gary Thompson and wife Tammy, Jeffry Thompson; grandchildren Cindy Wagner, Jennifer Long, Bryan Thompson, Crystal Thompson; great-grandchildren Samantha, Caleb and Hannah; brother Everett Thompson and wife Leah; and a host of nieces and nephews.
