Ralph Eugene Thompson, 76 of Independence passed away Sat., March 5, 2005 at Maywood Terrace Living Center. Services will be 1:00 pm, Tue. Mar 8, 2005 at Six Mile Baptist Church, 26005 E. Blue Mills Rd. Sibley, MO Burial in Six Mile Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 8:00 pm Monday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Indep. MO. In lieu of flowers the family suggest doing a good deed for someone in need or send contributions to the Six Mile Baptist Church. Mr. Thompson was born on Nov 21, 1928 to Glen and Mary (Wampler) Thompson in Chillicothe, MO and has lived in the Independence area since 1964. Ralph had been employed at the Chillicothe Power Plant for 14 � years and had also farmed in that area. After moving to this area in 1964 he worked at the Sibley Power Plant (MO-Pub) retiring as a Shift Supervisor in 1991. He was a member of Six Mile Baptist. He was a 1946 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He enjoyed bowling, vegetable gardening, walking, playing cards, fishing, camping, boating, traveling and helping others. He enjoyed several winters in the Rio Grande Valley. Ralph was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donald and Raymond Thompson and a grandson, Andrew Atkins. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Frances Thompson of Independence. A son, David Thompson of Independence, three daughters, Susan Wright and husband Terry of Lee�s Summit, MO; Linda Atkins and husband Daryl of Lawson, MO and Barb Rinne and husband Vadney of Lee�s Summit, MO. Six grandchildren, Carrie, Daniel, Jonathan, Melody, Joshua & Andrea. Four brothers, Robert, Alvin and Delbert Thompson of Chillicothe, MO and Delford Thompson of Marshall, MO.
