Winifred "Jo" Joanne Thorne

Winifred "Jo� JoAnne Thorne, 79 of Blue Springs, formerly of Independence, passed away on Thu. Oct 28, 2004. Services will be 2:00 pm Sat, Oct 30, 2004 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 - 8:00 pm Friday at the Chapel. Contributions are suggested to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the Alzheimer�s Association. Mrs. Thorne was born on Mar 19, 1925 to Virgil and Kathryn Levitte in Glasco, MT. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Independence and T.O.P.S. Inc. She had previously been very active in Girl Scouting. She had been an Art Teacher at the Paint Palate and at her home for many years. Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Thorne in 1995 and by a daughter Peggy Thorne in 1972. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Barbara Thorne of Blue Springs, MO. A daughter, Dee Ann Yancey of Independence, MO. Six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
