Ruth L. Thurlow

Ruth L. (Howser) Thurlow, 87, St. Charles, MO formerly of Independence, MO died Sept. 4, 2005. Services will be 1:30 pm, Friday, Sept. 9, 2005 at Carson Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO; interment at Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be noon - 1:30 pm, Friday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the Maywood Baptist Church, 10505 Winner Rd. Indep., MO 64052. Ruth was born Dec. 20, 1917 in Sedalia, MO and lived most of her life in Independence. She was a lifelong member of the Maywood Baptist Church where she was very active teaching Sunday school and in the choir. In 1935, she married Bernard H. Thurlow. He preceded her in death in 1983. Ruth is survived by daughter Carol J. Diekhoff Hamilton, St. Charles, MO; grandson Brian Diekhoff and wife Jessica, Wildwood, MO; great-grandaughters Ava Katherine Diekhoff and Elena Grace Diekhoff, cousins Robert C. Adams, wife Janet and their children; and Patricia Trost, husband John and their children.
