James P. Thurman, 57, of Independence, MO, passed away, Monday, November 14, 2005 at Research Belton Hospital. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2005, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday evening at the chapel. James was born March 6, 1948 in Kansas City, MO to Howard and Geraldine (Combs) Thurman and has been a lifelong area resident. He had worked as a laborer and welder in the construction trade for a number of years before he was disable in a construction accident. He enjoyed working on cars and watching wrestling and westerns. He is survived by his wife Virginia of the home; parents, Howard and Sandy Thurman of Harrison, AR and Geraldine Robinson of Independence, MO; 4 daughters, Angela Lindsey, Regina Thurman, Telisa Anderson all of Independence, MO and Samantha King of Raymore, MO; a son, James "JR� King of Raymore, MO; 2 sisters, Boneta Valentine and Tammy Bundy of Harrison, AR; 3 brothers, Mike Thurman of Urbana, MO, Scott Thurman of Independence, MO and Jamie Robinson of Sweet Springs, MO; a special niece Tina Porter of Independence, MO and 6 grandchildren.
