Willard “Bill” Tidd, 92, of Kansas City, passed away peacefully June 27, 2014 at Saint Luke’s Hospice House. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington, Independence, MO, 64052. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 am, at the Chapel. Private family burial, with Military Honors will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery. Willard was born on February 2, 1922 in Chicago, IL. As a toddler he moved to Kansas City with his mother, Lucinda Morgen Tidd It was there that she met and married Fields Warden. Together they raised Willard in the Kansas City area. After graduating from South East High School, Willard joined the Army Air Corp, and earned a Bronze Star in WWII. After the service Willard returned to the Kansas City area, later moving to Independence, where he remained a resident for over 50 years. Willard had an entrepreneurial spirit, owning and running several business’ during his lifetime, the last one being Tidd Investments. Willard had a passion for cars, and was known to trade so often that he never had to change the oil! Willard worked very hard, and loved to travel. He enjoyed traveling all over the world. Willard is survived by his sons, Bill (Linda) Tidd, Robert (Lz) Tidd. Other survivors include: half sister, Marilyn Barnett; grandchildren, Matt (Marcie) Tidd, Carolyn (Chris) Pirotte, and Anna Sellaro; and 3 great grandchildren.
