William Ernest "Will" Timms

Will Timms, 104, passed away Friday, October 14, 2016. A visitation will be held from 9-10::00 a.m. followed by an 10:00 a.m. service on Tuesday, October 18, at The Groves Community Room, 1515 W. White Oak St, Independence, MO 64050. The burial will take place at Mound Grove Cemetery. Will was born on September 23, 1912 in Stratford-on-Avon, England to William and Ethelinda Timms. After school he married Nancy Hicken. While in England, he held an administrative position in the coal industry. In 1951 he and Nancy came to the United States and joined the RLDS church, which is currently the Community of Christ. Over time he was called to the offices of Bishop, Evangelist, and Apostle. Nancy passed away in 1990 and Will later married Ruth Buck who also preceded him in death. Will is remembered by his son Lloyd Timms and wife Sharon of Grants Pass, OR; three grandchildren Paul and wife Lisa Sevy, Brian Sevy, and Laura Sevy-Kothe; four great-grandchildren William Sevy, Thomas Kothe, Rachael Kothe, and Sarah Kothe; and two great-great-grandchildren.
