John Gideon Toczek, a loving son and brother, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021. He was 33. John was born to Jason and Rita Toczek on August 10, 1988 in Blue Springs, Missouri.
After graduating from Truman High School in 2006 John continued his education at Lindenwood College. He obtained scholarships for both diving and academics. John was a sponge for knowledge. He was an avid reader and enjoyed reading books on chemistry, physics and most of all Harry Potter. John loved fantasy novels and has always been drawn to dragons. He had an incredible zest for life. John had the ability to see things most people couldn’t and that made him an amazing coach. He was a diving instructor and a gymnastics coach for many years using the laws of physics to guide and build strong athletes. John enjoyed a good glass of wine, music, Disney movies, puzzles, tap taps, serving others, and games of all sorts. But most of all he loved his family. John’s fun, outgoing, infectious personality will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
John is survived by his parents, Jason and Rita Toczek; sisters, Jordan Toczek, Julia Wyman (Nathaniel), Morgan Welch (Jared), Bailey Toczek and Chloe Love Toczek; grandparents, John and Regina Schafer, Mark and Rosemary Toczek; aunts, Lisa “Tida” Craig (David), Kristina “JoJo” Preston (Robert), Mercedes Diepenbrock (Nathan); numerous cousins and beloved furry companion, Sam Kat.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Resource Health Services in John’s memory or to the Shooting Star Memorial for John.
