Walter Todd, Jr, 92, of Independence, MO passed away September 16, 2016. A visitation will be held Sunday, September 18th from 5-7pm at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence. A service will be held Monday, September 19th at 10:00am at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial with full military honors will follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery. He was born, August 23, 1924 in Harrisonville, MO. Walter was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, five sisters and grandson, Brandon. He is survived by his wife, Gladys, 2 daughters, Janet Kay Gipson and husband Brian, Deborah Parker-Shore and husband Scott; and 5 sons, Leonard Ross and wife Betty, Walter Ray, Jack Edward and wife Terri, Stephen Michael and wife Barbara, and Christopher David; as well as, 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Walter was employed for 19 years with Ringsby Trucking. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing throughout MO and in TX. He was a good dad with the ability to help his kids with anything.
