Marilyn Corley Tolliver

Marilyn Tolliver, 84, of Oak Grove passed away January 30, 2020. Memorial services will be 2pm Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Colbern Rd. Community of Christ, 27507 E. Colbern Rd, Lee’s Summit, MO 64086. Marilyn was born on September 5, 1935 in New Albany,IN to Leslie and Lillian (Corley) Farr. She shared a passion for music with her mother from an early age. There wasn’t and instrument that she couldn’t play. She came proficient with 8 different instruments. The cello was always a favorite with Marilyn as that was the instrument that she first performed on with her mother. Over the years Marilyn was awarded over 16 medals for her musical accomplishments. Marilyn was also a trained Opera performer. Her love and passion of music was shared with students in the Independence School District where she taught music to elementary student for many years. For over 57 years Marilyn was a loving wife to her husband Don Tolliver. Together they enjoyed traveling, spending time at the lake and fishing. Marilyn was greatly loved and will be forever missed by her adoring husband.
