John Lee Tonyan, 69, of Blue Springs, passed away August, 2 2018. A visitation will be held Saturday, August 25th from 1-2:00pm with a memorial service following at 2:00pm, both at The Gathering at Noland Road (formally Noland Road Baptist Church) 4505 S Noland Rd, Independence, MO 64055.
John was born February 12, 1949 in San Mateo, CA to Kenneth and Emma “Amy” (Didek) Tonyan. John proudly served in the MO Army National Guard and served with his wife, Judy, as a Hope Lodge Volunteer with The Gathering at Noland Road where they are active members. He was also a former member of the MoKan Water Ski Club as his passions were skiing on the lakes and snow skiing on the mountains of CO and OR. John also loved gardening and landscaping. He always gave wise advice, guidance and laughter to those around him. He truly faced the end with courage and peace having lived life to the fullest.
John is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his son, Joel Tonyan and Rebekah Mills of CO, his daughter, Carrie Parrish and her husband, Nathan of Blue Springs, his grandson, Hayden Parrish; his brother, Ronald E. Tonyan and his wife, Sandi, of WA; and his sister, Kathy Ellis of OR.
