Raymond Treat, 83, of Independence, MO passed away Oct. 29, 2017. Memorial Services will be 10am Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Inurnment will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at a later date. Raymond was born on January 1, 1934 in Tomah, WI to Chelcie and Arline (Krueger) Treat. Raymond proudly served in the United States Marie Corp where he achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He attended the University of Wisconsin and Arizona State University. Raymond, along with his wife, were the founders of Zarahemla Research Foundation. He was an Archaeologist with the foundation for over 30 years. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, most recently with the Groves Congregation. Survivors include; Mya Ezzell and her husband Rick; Tanya Katz and her husband Jon; grandchildren Julian Katz, Sophie Katz, and Elizabeth Eastin; extended family and many friends. Raymond is preceded in death by his 1st wife Mary Lee Treat, 2nd wife Jean Marie Treat, and his parents.
